How to choose a Hytale server
What to look at before you join: players, uptime, rules and the people running it.
There are a lot of Hytale servers, and they vary a lot. Some are run by large teams with years of experience. Others are a few friends trying something new. Both can be great. These checks help you find one that suits you before you sink hours into it.
Start with the game mode
The game mode decides what you do all day: build, fight, trade, climb ranks or race through minigames. If you're not sure what each one means, read game modes explained, then use the mode buttons on the server list to narrow it down.
Look at how many people play
A server with players online at your usual playing time feels alive. Servers that run our plugin show a live player count on their listing. Check it at the hours you usually play, not just once.
Small servers aren't bad. A quiet server with a friendly community can beat a crowded one. Just make sure it isn't empty.
Check uptime and age
Uptime tells you how often the server is actually reachable. A server that is down every other day will lose your progress and your patience. Also look at when the server was added. Older servers that still get votes have shown they stick around.
Read the description properly
A good description tells you what makes the server different, what the rules are, and whether there is a store. Be careful with servers that say little beyond "best server ever". Also watch for promises that sound too good, like free ranks or free items for clicking a link.
Check the store, if there is one
Many servers sell cosmetics or ranks to pay for hosting. That's normal. What matters is whether paying players get a big advantage over everyone else. If the store sells powerful gear, expect players who spend money to win most fights.
Visit the Discord
A server's Discord shows you the community before you join. Look for active staff, clear rules, a place to report problems, and news about updates. A Discord with no messages in weeks is a warning sign.
Try it for an evening
The best test is playing. Spend an evening on two or three servers, then stay with the one where you had the most fun and the people were decent. When you find it, vote for it to help it grow.
