How to join a Hytale server
Find a server, copy its address and connect, step by step.
Joining a Hytale server takes about a minute once you know where things are. Here is the whole process, from finding a server to getting in.
1. Find a server you like
Browse the server list, or filter by game mode with the buttons at the top. Each listing shows the server's game modes, a short description and how many votes it got this month. Servers running our plugin also show how many players are online right now.
Open a server's page to read its full description, watch its trailer, and check its Discord or website.
2. Copy the server address
Every listing has a server address, such as play.example.net. Click it to copy it. Some addresses end in a colon and a number, like play.example.net:5521. That number is the port, so copy it too. If there is no number, the server uses Hytale's default port and you don't need to add one.
3. Add the server in Hytale
- Start Hytale and open the multiplayer server screen from the main menu.
- Choose to add a server.
- Paste the address into the address box. Give it a name you will recognise.
- Save it, select it in your list, and join.
Hytale's menus can change between updates, so the button names may differ slightly. The steps stay the same: add server, paste address, join.
If you can't connect
- Check the address. A missing letter or an extra space is the most common problem. Copy it again from the listing.
- Check the port. If the listing shows a number after a colon, it must be in the address you pasted.
- Check the server is online. Listings with live stats show whether the server is online right now.
- Check your game version. A server can only accept players on the game version it runs. Update Hytale and try again.
- Ask the server. Most servers have a Discord where staff can help, linked on their page.

Found a server you enjoy? Vote for it. Votes push it up the list, and many servers give in-game rewards for voting.
